If you’re looking for a personal fitness program that will deliver results and keep you motivated, we offer a training program and trainers that are perfect for you.  Our trainers all have a passion for fitness.  They will keep you motivated with their knowledge and know-how from their extent education.  A variety of sessions  are available for you at an affordable price.

APPROPRIATE FOR ALL FITNESS LEVELS:

  • Aqua Zumba: This class is a fusion of international music combined with water resistance.
  • Aqua Kickboxing: Change up your water workout with this kickboxing aqua class.
  • Aqua Tabata/Aqua Aerobics: High Intensity Intervals with little rest and lots of sweat.
  • Deep Water Splash: High-powered workout utilizing deep water running techniques, interval training & resistance equipment.
  • Gentle Sculpt: The Gentle Sculpt class is an exciting group class ideal for beginner level participants that allow those interested in mild to moderate level resistance training in a comfortable open environment to be led through a variety of fun and different exercises. (Female Only)
  • Karen’s Kore/Core Flow   Improve your posture, strengthen your abdomen and lower back. (Female Only)
  • KIDZercise: This 60min. fun fitness class contains sports conditioning, resistance training and cardio which will strengthen your entire body.  Geared for children 6-12yrs old.
  • Pilates/Mini Ball: Lengthen and strengthen your body using core muscle groups through a series of non-impact exercises designed to focus on the deep muscles of the abdominals, back, hips, and butt. Pilates with ball has proved very successful in the areas of core development and balance training.
  • Pink Program: Breast Cancer Survivors get started and keep moving!!! This one hours class consists of aerobic conditioning, balance exercises, stretching and strength training which helps you stay physically active and allows you to take control of your rehabilitation.
  • R.E.D. Warrior Nation:/Warrior Toning  The Warrior Toning workout is designed to assist participants in full mind-body connection. Through a unique combination of slow and controlled movement using a single “heavy” weight, the participant is able to achieve increased total body strength as well as improve balance and agility.  This practice uses repetition in patterns of movement, leading to increased cognitive function and general improvement in participants understanding of safe and effective exercise. Empowerment cueing and inspirational music are huge motivating forces, as they are in all of the Warrior Workouts.   *We recommend using a single 8-pound weight for the Warrior Toning Workout.
  • Splash: Whether you’re looking for a change in your workout routine, giving overstressed or injured muscles a break, or just looking to have fun, SPLASH is the place for you! By combining the resistance of water, the power of specialized equipment,  your workout becomes a whole new, energizing experience. So, what are you waiting for? Go grab your swimsuit & SPLASH your way to a healthier you!
  • Sunrise Yoga: A 60 min Vinyasa Flow Yoga practice open to all levels. Beginners welcome. Modifications and Variations of poses will be offered.
  • Toning Trifecta– Targeting the troublesome threesome: triceps, abs, and hips we’ll use everything in the arsenal: Weights, bars, bands, balls-to get them in shape. Something new every week!!
  • Triple Threat Sweat: Pilates with a twist. Add some weights, cardio, and strengthen your core.
  • Yoga/Yoga Flow: The traditional styles and postures of yoga are presented in this refreshing class. Enjoy the mind and body connection of deep stretching, slow & rhythmic poses and balance postures. Develop strength, balance & flexibility while experiencing deep relaxation.
  • Zumba /Belly Dance: Fusion of Latin and International music – dance themes that create a dynamic and exciting, effective fitness system! Interval training belly dancing with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.

INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED:

  • Breathe ‘N Flow Yoga: A 90 min Vinyassa Flow Yoga practice, open to all levels but geared towards intermediate students. Modifications and variations off all poses will be offered. First 30 min. focuses on pranayama and deep stretching.
  • Cardio Kick Boxing: This cardio conditioning class will get you moving with today’s popular martial arts moves to give you an end result of feeling and looking your best.
  • Crossfit: Conditioning class with varied functional movements at high intensity.
  • H.I.I.T: “High Intensity Interval Training” This workout alternates INTENSE BURSTS of activity with short periods of low activity or rest. High and low impact options will be shown.BLAST OFF FAT! BURN CALORIES! TAKE THE CHALLENGE!
  • Hip Hop: Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily curlture performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.
  • LesMills Body Pump: This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like Squats, Presses, Lifts and Curls. Great Music!
  • Pump & Spin: 55 minute cycling class with resistance training.
  • Sleek and Strong: Build endurance and muscle. Expect to use a variety of  different equipment.
  • Step-A-Licious: 4, 3, 2, 1…SWEAT! In the ultimate, Step-a-licious experience that leaves the confusing step routines in the trash. Fresh, flavorful choreography and upbeat music provides the essential ingredients for this super fun, classic step workout.
  • Spinning: A 55 minute stationary cycle workout set to music, which focuses on endurance and interval training.
  • Sweat N’ Sculpt: Hi-lo aerobics with resistance training all body parts.  Fun music to get moving to. (Female only )
  • Total Body Blast: A target toning routine that works every muscle in your body and teaches you weight training basics. Various types of strength training equipment are incorporated.
  • Total Body Strength: Shape and strengthen all the muscles of your body through the proper techniques of lifting and weight training with an individualized approach.  Fun, doable and effective!

 


Group Exercise Class Etiquette:

  • Pilates & Triple Threat Sweat  (Lina) classes require a  reservation in advance. You may reserve a space for yourself  2 hours prior to the start of the scheduled class time. (718-475-5210)
  • Maximum capacity of 25 (Pilates) members per class in all Group X classes with the exception of 19 in SPINNING.
  • Only appropriate attire and sneakers are permitted in Group X classes.
  • There are no pocketbooks, gym bags or coats allowed in the Group X Fitness Studio.
  • Please be considerate to other class members and the instructors at all times. Keep your conversations

          to a minimum and kindly shut off all cellular phones, pagers, etc.

  • Please inform the instructor of any health related concerns that you may have, or, if this is your first time taking the class. Classes are open to all members and paid guests.
  • Have fun and keep smiling.

 

  • Daily Guest passes are $15
  • If you join our Fitness Center within 30 days of the expiration of your guest pass, you may apply the guest fee towards your membership dues.
  • Guest Passes are issued at the Reception desk in the lobby. We will photocopy your Drivers License
    or Photo ID card for security purposes before issuing the Guest Pass.

Instead of carrying your workout clothes back and forth to the gym, the Bernikow Fitness Center offers annual locker rentals, giving you one less thing to worry about. Rental lockers are available on a first come first served basis, and are only available to Platinum members. Lockers available for rental measure about 12” x 12”, enough space to store your toiletries, shoes, etc. overnight.
Fee: $12 month/$144 annual
