Specialty Camps
 

With the New Jersey “Y”

We are partnering with the New Jersey “Y” Camps, to offer campers a one-week overnight experience on a beautiful 1,250-acre location in Milford, PA, just 90 minutes away from NYC. The facility includes beautiful cabins, two lakes, two swimming pools, extensive ropes challenge courses, and incredible sports and arts facilities. Campers may choose one of two options. Be on the lookout for additional details about these new camps.

Option 1: SLEEP-A-WEEK: Ages: Children entering grades 3 through 7 • Dates: July 29 - August 5. Fee includes meals and all activities. Campers participate in a wide variety of activities including: outdoor adventure, aquatics, arts, athletics and evening activities. Staff is carefully selected and are skilled in dealing with issues that might arise with first time overnight campers.

Option 2: SLEEP-A-WEEK SPECIALTY: Ages: Children entering grades 1 through 10 • Dates: August 5 - August 12 Fee includes meals and all activities Campers experience the overnight camp adventure described above, plus et to immerse themselves in one activity that they love for four hours a day, six days a week. Select SLEEP-A-WEEK and add a concentration in one of the following 10 activities, all taught by well trained and highly regarded specialists.

Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Camp
Whether your goal is an Olympic gold medal or first place on your swim team, you can’t do much better than to learn techniques from Lenny Krayzelburg, a four time Olympic Gold Medalist. Lenny, captain of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Swim Team and an 11-time U.S. National Champion, will be at TSC to train our American Red Cross certified Instructors. He will personally conduct the one week each session.

Herb Brown Basketball Camp
Learn what the “big” boys know from one of the game’s most respected coaches. With more than 40 years of basketball coaching experience, Herb Brown brings a cool head, a steady hand and an uncanny knowledge of the game to the court. Herb was a former coach of the Detroit Pistons and was head coach of the U.S. Men’s Basketball Team at the world Maccabiah in Israel. He has authored three books about basketball. At TSC, Herb will supervise the program and train the instructors, all of whom are high school and university level coaches. He will be coaching in camp during the one week session.

Ron Blomberg Baseball Camp
Add the expertise of the New York Yankee Ron Blomberg and the skills of high school and college coaches and you get an out-of-the-park home run. That’s the unbeatable formula for TSC Baseball Camp, where Ron will join us during each session to lead the staff and work directly with the campers and be accompanied by former Yankee and Mets player Elliot Maddox.

Maccabi Great Britain Soccer Camp
Master the fine points of America’s fastest growing sport by learning from the people who know it best. Maccabi Great Britain, a professional youth sports organization serving the Jewish Community in England, will conduct our new TSC Soccer Camp. British and Argentinean coaches, experts in this popular international sport, will instruct players in the skills and nuances of play that lead to victory.

Israel Tennis Center Tennis Camp
Some win by running to the net. Others win by jumping over the net. All have mastered the subtle techniques of tennis that make them champions. The TSC Tennis Camp offers a unique opportunity to learn winning dexterity from the same professionals who have instructed thousands of players at 14 locations throughout Israel.

THE ARTS
In partnership with the highly regarded 92nd Street Y Arts Program, Michal Ozeri Goldberg, Director of Arts at the NJY Camps, brings unique professional and creative expertise to the TSC Arts Program. Michal, who completed her Masters study at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Israel, will team with professional instructors to provide a supportive, fun filled environment where campers explore a wide variety of techniques. This program is offered in 3 art forms: Ceramics, Painting and Jewelry.

92nd Street Y Ceramics Camp
Ceramics is one of the oldest, most fascinating and respected crafts. TSC Ceramics Camp allows campers to be involved in programs where they design, build and decorate an array of ceramic objects through a variety of techniques.

92nd Street Y Painting Camp
Young artists see the world around them through a spectrum of color and form. We have an inspiring studio environment where campers can develop technical skills as well as visual ideas. Working with the professional instructors, campers can cultivate the creativity that enables them to take their talents to new levels.

92nd Street Y Jewelry Making Camp
When you combine the extensive jewelry and metalsmithing program at the 92nd street Y with Michal Ozeri Goldberg artistic talent, you come up with a creative gem. Campers will work with our professional jeweler in our fully-equipped studio to master this exacting and satisfying art. You must be in the 7th grade or above to enroll in this program.

Ergo Media Cinematography Camp
In a world of increasing dependence on visual images, cinematography plays a critical role in shaping our society. Filmmaker Dr. Eric Goldman, founder of Ergo Media and a known expert and lecturer on Yiddish, Israeli and Jewish films, focuses his attention on films and videos that reflect the Jewish experience. You must be entering 7th grade or above to participate in the program.

THE SCIENCES
The Planetary Society Astronomy Camp There is no better time than now to explore the mysteries of the vast universe. In partnership with the Planetary Society, campers will examine some of the newest aspects of astronomy. Using sophisticated equipment, aspiring astronomers at TSC will receive a solid foundation of knowledge as they immerse themselves in this exciting discipline.

Physics Camp
TSC Physics Camp gives campers the opportunity to explore the fascinating world around them. By performing a vast array of experiments, campers get a better understanding of the science behind how things work. At camp, we have the unique opportunity to take science out of the classroom and into the outdoors to see experiments jump off the paper and into reality.

Physiology and Kinesiology Camp
The Physiology and Kinesiology Camp gives campers the opportunity to explore what happens to the human body during exercise and how different types of sports training affect our bodies. Campers will learn what kind of information athletes often depend on in training or competition, and experience the tests athletes perform for obtaining that information. This camp is all about how science benefits sports and how sports benefit science.

Chemistry Camp
This summer, unlock the secrets behind everything we can see, touch, smell and taste. All this stuff is called matter. Campers will:
• Perform experiments to see how different matter reacts with other matter
• Gain an understanding behind how matter can transform from one form to another and see it in action
• Run tests around camp and be amazed by the results as they happen.

Biology Camp
This summer explore the mysteries of earth’s living things. Campers will:
• Use scientific tools to analyze cells
• Perform experiments and record their reactions and outcomes
• Learn about the differences and similarities between all living things
