At First Foot Forward we have an open door policy and you are welcome at any time! We welcome children of all faiths and nationalities.

• Developmental Delays

• Pervasive Developmental Disorder
• Attention Deficit Disorder

We Can Help Evaluate Your Child
To receive services, your child needs to be evaluated by an approved evaluation site. Let our team of certified professionals evaluate your child at no cost to you. A recommendation for services will then be made by the Department of Education’s Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) based upon the individual needs of your child.

Our Programs for 10 or 12 Month Services Include:
Centerbased Preschool Classes*
Our centerbased classes allow for small class individualized instruction with appropriate specialized therapies. Special education teachers provide a fun, nurturing and supportive environment for the 8–12 children in each class. Qualifying preschoolers attend a half-day or full day session for 5 days a week at the Bernikow JCC.

Integrated Preschool Classes*
First Foot Forward’s integrated classes allow special needs preschoolers to share experiences and grow together with JCC and UPK children. Our unique individualized curriculum fosters hands on learning for all children in a positive and creative small class setting of 15 children. Your child may attend a full day classroom session with specialized therapies at the Avis/South or Bernikow JCC. We also provide a half-day morning class at the Berkinow JCC.

Related Services (Therapies)*
Has your child been approved by CPSE to receive related services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy or counseling? Let us provide these services around your child’s preschool or home schedule at First Foot Forward.
