Our mission is to connect people
to opportunities for productive and meaningful activities that respond
to their interest and our community needs.
There is a two fold purpose to
volunteering: the commitment to volunteerism provides a personal
reward to the individuals who donate their time. The organizations
gain valuable talents from volunteers who share their expertise,
talent and time. The individual gains a feeling of satisfaction and
pride in giving back. This exchange is a win for both.
We are establishing a database for
volunteer opportunities within our agency and throughout the Staten
Island community. Some of the positions are for long term and
short-term projects and some are ongoing.
We are looking for:
• Retired adults who wish to share their expertise with us or enter a
new field of expertise • Mothers and Fathers with child-free time who wish to reconnect with
the work force • Volunteers who are willing to donate their artistic talents
• Individuals with sports backgrounds who are willing to serve as
coaches • Internships for High School students performing Community Service
• Internships for College students during school breaks
• Intergenerational programs
