HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAMS
JCC Community Health Insurance Program (CHIPS)
The CHIPS Staff are trained Navigators, certified through the New York State Department of Health. They assist individuals and families in enrolling in public health insurance programs (Medicaid and Child Health Plus) as well as in Qualified Health Plans through the New York State of Health Marketplace. The multi-lingual Navigator staff can assist people under the age of 65 with eligibility, enrollment, plan selection and health literacy. Services are available at various locations with weekend hours offered. There is no cost to enroll, although premiums and co-pays may apply, depending upon program. Disaster Case Management Program
The Disaster Case Management Program (DCM) is funded by the Catholic Charities of New York, through the New York State Office of Emergency Management, and offers services to Staten Islanders who were affected by Hurricane Sandy. The DCM staff work with clients in assessing the damage from the storm, developing a comprehensive recovery plan and taking the steps necessary to achieve that plan. Services are available in English, Russian, Ukrainian, Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic and Hindi and there is no cost to the program. Call 718.981.1400 to speak with a Disaster Case Manager.
