As participants in
UJA-Federation’s Partnership 2000 Grant, our JCC has developed a close and interactive relationship with our sister city in Israel
(Pisgat Ze’ev-a suburb of Jerusalem) over the past seven years. We are pleased to welcome
Redbridge, England
(a suburb of London) to this relationship and are certain that the third partner will enhance what is already an incredible array of projects between the communities which have helped to strengthen bonds between us and prove most conclusively that we are all part of the Jewish Collective.
A delegation of 6 Israeli teens (dancers) and their instructor joined our Staten Island teens this summer to form one delegation at
Maccabi Artsfest held in Fairfax, Va. What an incredible bonding experience these teens enjoyed. Next year, perhaps a delegation from Redbridge can join in on the fun! The three communities have been considering programming they can do together which will further Jewish identity, understanding the importance of Israel to the world, and the concept of the Jewish Collective.
Please watch for announcements of Partnership 2000 programs that you can participate in, delegations you can join, and ideas you can bring to the table regarding this most exciting JCC program. Be sure to visit our sister cities when traveling to Israel or England and get to know their wonderful communities. You will be impressed by how similar we all are.
