No matter what you need or what your interests are, the new JCC Fitness Center has qualified instructors ready to WOW you. Offering over 50 of the hottest, most diverse classes, the group exercise schedule will surely take you into fitness bliss. Each awesome class is designed to challenge your body, renew your motivation and yield great results. Classes offer aerobics & cardiovascular training, strength & resistance training, single sex classes, dance, Yoga & Pilates. All our classes are tailored to meet all fitness levels. In addition, there will be not one, but TWO group exercise studios allowing for twice the variety, twice the results, twice the fun!

We Provide - You Decide:
Under the umbrella of the new expanded programming at the Bernikow JCC, the Fitness Center is showcasing two new classes - Tai Chi and SharQui. Participants will be asked to evaluate their experiences. If they are a hit . . .they will have a permanent place in our roster of fun classes.

Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a Chinese Martial Arts exercise that is primarily practiced for its health benefits, including a means for dealing with tension and stress. The slow, graceful movements of Tai Chi increase strength and flexibility and improve balance and circulation for individuals of all ages and health conditions. Tai Chi has been known to be an effective therapy for a wide range of health problems, including poor circulation, headaches, high blood pressure, arthritis, back pain, breathing difficulties, digestive and nervous disorders, to name a few.

SharQui™
 This class will get your heart pumping as you improve balance, form and core strength while performing these exotic moves. Come join us for this soul-stimulating workshop that will let you express yourself as you get into great shape!

Pilates Reformer
Spring is the time for change and new beginnings. Getting back to the gym after a long, cold winter could be the first thing on your "to do" list this season. If not, it should be because the new Joan and Alan Bernikow JCC has an exciting program starting up in Spring '07. The Pilates Reformer is finally here! Pilates, considered one of the fastest growing forms of exercise in the world is breaking ground at the new JCC Fitness Center. The philosophy is to train and condition the body from the inside out. Participants will find improvement in their posture, spinal alignment, and strength without the bulk! If you're tired of not getting the results you want, or just looking for a different routine, the Reformer Program is for you. Take charge of your body, reform it from the inside out!

Intro to Cycling!
If you have never taken an indoor cycling class and need some personalized attention learning how to set yourself up on the bike, this is the time and place for you! This 30 minute session leads right into a 45-minute class that is appropriate for all levels, as well as being welcoming for beginners.
