The JCC Stapleton Neighborhood Senior Center offers a wide variety of services to stimulate both body and mind. The nutritional program includes a warm, healthy and hearty breakfast and lunch. Nutritional education and monthly blood pressure screenings, conducted by a registered nurse, are also offered. There are computer and ceramics classes as well as arts and crafts. Physical activities taught by certified instructors include Tai-Chi, Yoga, aerobics, chair exercises and line dancing. Case assistance and referrals are provided to all members to help resolve various personal matters pertaining to food stamps, Access-A-Ride, rent arrears, Medicare and Medicaid, eviction prevention and much more. Translation services are also available upon request in English, Spanish and Tagalog. All adults 60 and above are invited and welcome to join this fun, diverse and friendly senior center.

  • Avis/South Shore Neighborhood Senior Center

The Avis/South Shore Neighborhood Senior Center is the place to be if you are a senior adult age 60 and above. For those who enjoy socializing, staying fit and sharing a Kosher meal with your peers, the neighborhood center offers all that and more. For those who are homebound and find it physically challenging to get to the “J” our Case Management department is available to assist you by telephone or in person in managing your activities of daily living. All JCC Social Services are Free (unless otherwise noted) and Open to All Free door-to-door transportation is available to/from the Joan & Alan Bernikow JCC for adults 60+ or disabled participants to attend programs at the JCC during designated Center for Life Long Development (CLLD) hours and to/from the Avis/South Shore JCC during designated Neighborhood Senior Center hours of operation. Free CLLD and/or Neighborhood Senior Center enrollment is required to take advantage of the transportation option. Our bus is lift accessible.
