Social Adult Day Program

Caregiving isn’t easy.  We can help.

Social Adult Day program is also now available on the first Sunday of every month 1:00-4:00pm; advanced registration is required.

Our Social Adult Day Program provides adults who have been diagnosed with beginning to middle stage Alzheimer’s disease, related dementia, and/or traumatic brain injury (TBI) an opportunity to socialize and remain mentally and physically stimulated, as well as remain productive.    Our well-rounded program addresses physical well being, creativity, mind challenges and relaxation.

While your loved ones participate in the program, you have an opportunity for respite – you are free to run errands, work, tend to your routine activities, or just get a free moment to yourself.

The program operates Monday-Friday 10am-3pm, with an extended day option available until 6pm beginning September 2017.  We are flexible in terms of number of days, but we do recommend a consistent schedule to help support your loved one’s needs.

We recognize the individuality of each participant and welcome people with a variety of abilities and needs.

Our one-of-a-kind program includes a nutritionally balanced lunch and snacks, as well as quality programs led by CPR/AED-trained and caring staff, including:

  • Daily fitness and exercise (balance classes, walking, chair yoga, sitercise)
  • Creative therapies (art, music, dance & movement, pet therapies)
  • Reminisce and mind-wellness activities (discussion groups, cognitive games, technology)
  • Gardening
  • On-site social events (parties, games, dancing socials, entertainment, sing-a-long)
  • Birthday parties and holiday celebrations
  • Community service projects (card-making for veterans and emergency personnel)

Our commitment to you:

  • Compassionate, caring, trained and qualified staff
  • All staff, including Social Workers and direct care staff, is CPR/AED certified
  • A low ratio allows our direct care staff to assist with participant engagement, transferring, meal preparation, and reinforcement of daily life skills
  • Monthly calendar
  • Affordable alternative to institutional placement and in-home care by providing comprehensive programming in a safe and caring environment during the day.

Door to door transportation is based on availability to and from the program for a suggested contribution of $2 per day.

Participation in Social Adult Day program allows for a significant savings in cost over assisted living, skilled nursing facilities, or private in-home care.  The JCC requests for a monthly suggested contribution of $20.
